Other Experiential Opportunities

Experiential learning is a process through which students develop, enhance or increase knowledge, skills, and values from direct experiences outside a traditional academic setting. Well-planned, supervised and assessed experiential learning programs can stimulate academic inquiry by promoting interdisciplinary learning, civic engagement, career development, cultural awareness, leadership, and professional and intellectual skills.

In addition to internships, students may gain relevant work experience through other types of experiential learning opportunities, such as:

  • Cooperative Education (co-op)

  • Clinical/Field Experience

  • Field Work

  • Practicum

  • Apprenticeship

  • Clerkships

  • Service Learning

  • Undergraduate Research

  • Study Abroad

  • Student Work/Study

  • Student Jobs
