Federal Internships

Federal internships are internships within the federal government. As with any internship experience, these internships can be beneficial, but may be of more interest to students who wish to work with specific populations, agencies, or areas in government. These experiences give students the unique opportunity to learn about their field directly from within the government.

Students can get federal internships through specialized programs, such as the HACU National Internship Program, or directly through the agency on www.USAjobs.gov. However you apply it is important to be prepared for the process. Some agencies have specific deadlines and dates or positions may only be open for 2-3 days at a time. FIU Career Services has resources to help you apply to federal internships you may be interested in.
